Success Measurement

By Tom McLean, Senior Consultant
Service Provider Practice, Advocate Networks, LLC

As we launch new products or make adjustments to existing product lines, we are often posed with the question: Was the project a success? This is a relatively simple question with a potentially very complex answer. Certainly sales of the product are an indication of success, but other aspects must also be considered. The list for consideration can be exhausting, but with some up-front planning a product manager can be prepared to definitively answer this question.

Planning, monitoring and reporting a new launch or change can take a significant amount of time, typically above and beyond the day-to-day operations a product manager must address. To add further complexity, Business As Usual (BAU) reporting will probably not be effective in the months immediately following a launch or change. Advocate Networks has considerable experience working with service providers in gauging the success of a product launch or change. As a value-add partner, Advocate Networks functions as a flexible workforce to answer questions quickly, efficiently and cost effectively.
